Do you have any regular GP’s?
Yes. The East Perth Medical Centre specialises in Travel Medicine; however we do have regular GP’s.

Where do I go for my travel vaccinations?
The East Perth Medical Centre is able to provide you with a complete service of travel health. All vaccines are kept on site and are able to be administered during your consultation.

Can you recommend which vaccines are required for traveling to Asia?
As each traveler is different and has different travel plans, it is recommended that you see the Travel Doctor to assess your needs individually. Your Travel Doctor will provide you with travel health, recommended vaccines and some preventative actions based on your medical history, travel itinerary and plans.

Do you have any female doctors?
Yes, there are female doctors at the East Perth Medical Centre.

Do you have doctors who speak languages other than English?
Yes, we have Australian trained Doctors who also speak Hindi, Swahili, Polish and Russian.

Can I have my results over the phone?
No. All patient results and information is confidential and cannot be given of the phone.
You must book an appointment with a Doctor in order for your results to be released.

Our clinical staff strives to return phone calls to patients on the same day. Calls are not taken when consulting unless an urgent medical situation.

If you have any concerns or wish to restrict access to your personal health information please discuss these with your doctor or receptionist. This practice adheres to principles of the RACGP Handbook for the Management of Health Information in Private Medical Practice and has a written policy, which is available to all patients for inspection.

How can I access my health information?
Your personal health information and your medical record may be collected, used and disclosed for the following reasons:

For communicating relevant information with other treating doctors, specialists or allied health professionals

  • For follow up reminder / recall notices, telephone, SMS, letters
  • For national/state or territory registers (eg. Immunisation data)
  • For state/territory reminder systems, (eg cervical screening – pap smears reminders or familiar cancer registries).
  • Accounting / Medicare / health insurance procedures
  • Quality assurance activities such as accreditation
  • For disease notification as required by law (e.g. infectious diseases)
  • For use by all doctors/nurses/allied health professionals in this group practice when consulting with you
  • For legal related disclosure as required by a court of law  (e.g. subpoena, court order, suspected child abuse)
  • For research purposes (de-identified, meaning you are not able to be identified from the information given)

Do you bulk bill?
Yes

Can I instantly receive my Medicare rebate refund?
Yes, Medicare refunds are able to be automatically refunded into your nominated account.

Where can I park?
There is metered street parking available on Bennett Street, Adelaide Terrace and on Terrace Road. A public car park is also available on Bennett Street from 8am to 6pm weekdays.

How can I provide feedback or make a complaint?
At the East Perth Medical Centre, we take all concerns, suggestions and complaints seriously. If you have an issue, please feel free to talk to the receptionist, your doctor or the practice manager. A suggestion box is also available at the clinic for patient feedback.
